Jacob Coleman was sworn in as an alternate member of the Planning and Zoning Commission at the March 5 meeting of the City of Murphy. During the oath, Coleman repeated, “I do solemnly swear or affirm that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office of alternate member of the planning and zoning commission of the city of Murphy,” and affirmed to preserve the Murphy City Charter and the Constitution and laws of the United States and the state of Texas.
The commission’s presiding officer welcomed Coleman immediately after the oath. The ceremony preceded the meeting’s business, including minutes approval and consideration of development items. No additional action on Coleman’s status was required at the meeting.
