Freedom Tree Park west plaza finished; east-side development nearing completion

Parks staff reported the west plaza at Freedom Tree Park is complete and accepted; the east-side development is roughly 75–80% complete with playgrounds, restrooms and parking in place and the pavilion due in the next two to three weeks.
Danielle told the board the west portion of Freedom Tree Park—around the Freedom Tree plaza—is finished and accepted by the city and maintenance has been assumed. “It is fully, fully done, accepted by the city,” she said, encouraging board members and residents to visit the finished west plaza.
She said the east side of the new park is about 75–80% complete: playgrounds and restrooms are in, the parking lot is finished, picnic tables and labyrinth are installed and the primary plaza and art medallions remain in progress. Staff expect pavilion delivery in two to three weeks and will continue landscaping and lighting work ahead of planned opening activities.
