Quail Valley manager updates council on renovations, revenue gains and capital plan

Sergio Salazar, general manager of Quail Valley Golf Club, told the Missouri City Council the club has completed several renovations and is preparing for phased reopenings. "The completion of the renovation will be done here in about 2 months or so," Salazar said, and added that the new putting green behind the clubhouse is essentially finished but will be held for a month to allow the turf to mature.
Salazar said operational changes introduced in January — including new rates and policies and expanded tee-time use — have pushed rounds up about 40% and revenues up roughly 50% over the prior year. Councilmembers pressed staff about customer experience details such as restroom cleanliness and event housekeeping. City Manager Angel Jones said the city is asking staff to develop a comprehensive capital plan for the golf course that will identify mechanical needs, irrigation infrastructure and prioritized projects to be funded over multiple years.
Councilmembers praised the managerial work and offered to tour the site. Councilmember Emery and others emphasized marketing the facilities to residents and nearby communities once renovations are complete. The city did not take any formal action on this report; staff said they will return with a capital plan and potential funding options.
