Downtown collision‑repair plan draws neighborhood concern over screening and aesthetics

"We're more a clean, streamlined shop where, there'll be no cars at nighttime outside," Aguilar said.
Nearby business owner Susie Hitchcock Hall opposed aspects of the request unless the city required tighter maintenance and screening standards. "My big concern was that this business that would be coming in would have people working on autos...and those cars and trucks would be brought over there and left outside," she said, noting guests in a new adjacent hotel could view stored vehicles. Staff and commissioners discussed that landscaping and permit conditions generally address site maintenance and appearance; the commission voted to approve the zone change.
