Middletown approves $70,000 website redesign with $15,600 annual maintenance to meet ADA and reliability needs

Public Information Officer Liz Martin told the board the township’s current Kentico website will reach end-of-life and no longer be supported after Dec. 31, 2026, and staff have experienced increasing outages and broken links. A cross-department design team ran an RFP in May 2026, received nine submissions, shortlisted three firms, and recommended Exemplify based on municipal experience, pricing, timeline, and ability to meet upcoming ADA digital-accessibility requirements.
Martin said Exemplify’s proposal would allow a December launch and expand resident-facing services such as online forms and improved navigation. The implementation cost presented to the board was $70,000 with an annual maintenance and support fee of $15,600; the board approved the agreement 5–0 subject to final solicitor and administration review. The board noted the need for the ADA updates and that the replacement will avoid potential loss of content should the current system be discontinued.
The board’s approval authorizes staff to finalize the contract and proceed with implementation under solicitor review.
