Commission approves 77‑acre zone change for future retail and commercial development

Senior planner Britt Murray told commissioners that Park Hill, on behalf of Mark Payne, requested rezoning of a 77.09‑acre tract to regional retail for future retail and commercial development. "The applicant is requesting the zone change for future retail and commercial development," Murray said, adding that staff received no objections and recommended approval.
Commissioners asked whether nearby oil and gas activity might affect the proposal; Murray said the platting process includes a review by the oil and gas department and any required plat notes would be added during that step. Commissioner Sysniaga (mover) and Commissioner Hunter (second) were recorded on the motion and the commission approved the rezoning 7–0.
