Carson City leads Quad-County hazmat training coordination as LEPCs finalize compliance

Carson City—s LEPC chair Jon Bakkedahl told the Commission that Carson City is taking a lead role in Quad-County coordination with Douglas, Lyon and Storey to build a regional hazmat training schedule and maintain SERC compliance.
"We actually invited Kelly Hutter out and she participated in our meeting as well so that we could have some SERC presentation and representation there," Bakkedahl said, noting that all documents were signed and submitted to SERC. He said the Quad-County effort aims to build a multi-patterned hazmat training schedule so departments across the region can maintain compliance and fulfill grant obligations.
Bakkedahl and other county representatives said scheduling should reflect shift coverage and avoid conflicts with wildland-fire training. Kelly Hutter said she had circulated dates and asked counties to confirm availability so the vendor and governor—s office can assemble a schedule for IFC review.
