City Manager Keil Moore told the council the long-planned reconstruction of Las Vegas Boulevard between Tonopah and Cary will begin Monday, April 6 and run for approximately 18 months. He said the project will include lane restrictions, modified traffic patterns and construction activity from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and urged residents to plan alternate routes and allow extra commute time.
Moore said the public works team completed a high volume of traffic-safety related work orders in February and framed the Las Vegas Boulevard reconstruction as necessary infrastructure investment. He provided a construction contact (Las Vegas Paving at (702) 251-5800) and said staff will keep residents apprised of lane restrictions and safety upgrades during the work.
