The commission on March 24 considered a proposals for decision recommending cancellation of Calibambo LLC's mixed beverage permit and subordinate late‑hour certificate (d/b/a Bucanos Sports Bar) after the agency sought summary disposition.
Special Counsel Matt Diamond summarized the contested case, telling commissioners that TABC alleged the respondent "sold and permitted consumption of alcohol on the premises after hours permissible by law" on multiple occasions and that the respondent did not file a response to the agency's motion for summary disposition. He said the administrative law judge granted TABC's motion and recommended cancellation of the permit and certificate.
After reviewing the proposal for decision, counsel recommended the commission adopt the ALJ's findings and conclusions of law. The commission moved, seconded and voted to approve the findings and to authorize the chair to sign the order, effectively accepting the ALJ recommendation to cancel the permit and late‑hour certificate.
The action follows the agency's enforcement process under administrative hearings; the commission did not elaborate on penalty calculations in open session.
