Group plans 66 veteran banners and a memorial banner for Fallen Officer Carl Summers; public invited to May 9 ceremony

Robin McEwen told council she is coordinating a banner program through the Harrisville Lodi Historical Society that will put up 66 banners, primarily veteran banners, around village square and on some electric poles. She said the vendor Military Tribute Banners will accept military banner orders only, the Lodi American Legion has agreed to supply brackets as needed, and the Historical Society will store the banners over winter.
David Summers, brother of Fallen Officer Carl Summers, said it "was not his intention for people to start things on Facebook" after he sought a banner and that his brother "gave his life for this town forty-nine years ago." He invited everyone to a ceremony on May 9 at Woodlawn Cemetery during Police Officer Week. Council members thanked Robin McEwen for coordinating the project.
