Amanda Fletcher, director of human resources, presented the awards and said the agency "recognize[s] and honor their service" through milestones that include the Go Paperless project and a work‑from‑home pilot. She named Jessica Arteaga and Liza Salcedo among those being honored and described how long‑tenured staff supported a shift to online licensing and application processing.
Jose Pineda, director of licensing, told commissioners that in the licensing division of about 60 staff, the awardees are among the most tenured, and highlighted their roles as primary approvers and testers during the agency's digital transitions. Family members accepted awards when honorees could not attend in person.
The commission scheduled the recognitions as part of its opening agenda; there was no formal vote associated with the presentations. The agency said the awards are intended to highlight the operational support staff provide to businesses and public safety in Texas.
