I am a public servant at heart, and I look forward to becoming a part of this community and getting to know all of you.” She specifically thanked staff and family members for their support.
Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Clark and other council members welcomed Garcia and recessed briefly for photographs. Garcia also praised interim leadership, saying she was impressed by staff professionalism in her short time on the job. The council did not take formal additional action at the meeting; the administration of the oath and public welcome were the official items recorded on the agenda.
