Council approves 4B budget amendments for website, Vineyard park and broadband study payment

As part of the midyear budget discussion, council reviewed the 4B budget amendment items. Staff described itemized requests: $125,000 for a website redesign and a GIS selector tool; $49,000 for a fence at Vineyard park plus $20,000 for drainage work and an optional $55,000 gate; and $12,500 to make the first payment on an ongoing broadband study.
Council confirmed the broadband study remains in progress but requires the initial payment to continue. The council approved items 1, 2 and 3 and did not approve item 4 of the 4B package; staff said the payment to the broadband study is necessary to complete the work.
Staff clarified that the Vineyard items total roughly $124,000 if the gate option is included and that website/GIS work will include ongoing maintenance as proposed. The approved 4B items will be incorporated into the midyear budget ordinance.
Council asked staff to track these one-time expenses distinctly from recurring personnel costs.
