Commissioners pull two parks amendments; residents complain about short notice and demand transparency

At the start of the agenda review, commissioners agreed to withdraw two items under Services & Community Relations — the Parks Tiger Point Sports Association amendment and the Parks Bayside Soccer amendment — after Commissioner Brad asked that the parties and county staff work collaboratively over the next 30–45 days to reach an agreement.
Public commenters including Sherry Chapman criticized the perceived short notice and said communities that built and maintain the parks deserve more time and transparency. "Stop dropping these bombs on us that you want put on the agenda 1 day, and by Thursday, you want to vote on it," Chapman said. Jerry Cooley and others urged the board to preserve accountability and financial transparency if changes are made.
Chairman Baker clarified the items were not sprung on anyone and that discussions between parties had been ongoing; staff and the parties were directed to return an outcome to the board within the stated negotiation window. The matter will return to the board after discussions.
