Commissioners adopt new Rockwall County logo, ask staff to plan phased transition

The Commissioner's Court approved a new Rockwall County logo at its March 24 meeting after Commissioners reviewed multiple iterations from designer Billy Quinton. Commissioner Lichty and others described sizing for lapel pins and a smaller mark for government use.
Commissioner Lichty said the design work involved several rounds of fine-tuning and the chosen version was vetted for lapel-pin production. Commissioners discussed roll-out logistics — including replacement of decals on vehicles and equipment — and agreed a phased approach incorporated into the FY27 budget would minimize one-time costs.
"This is really the result of a lot of hard work," Commissioner Lichty said. The motion to adopt the new logo carried 5–0; staff will return with cost estimates and a transition plan for logos on vehicles, equipment and printed materials.
