County staff: 205 South has assigned let date but could be accelerated if openings arise

Brenda briefed the consortium on the status of 205 South inside Rockwall County, noting the project has an assigned let date in September 2028 but that the county has a ready-to-let status that could allow an earlier letting if slots open. She said staff will push to move the project forward if another project drops from the schedule and emphasized the need to keep documentation and project readiness current.
"So if an opportunity presents itself to move it forward, if a project drops out, if projects are coming under what the projected amounts are, then there may be an opportunity to move it forward from that September 2028 date and we're going to be pushing for that," Brenda said. The consortium was advised that staff remain prepared to accelerate scheduling if the project is fully ready and openings at TxDOT occur; no final acceleration decision or funding action was made at the meeting.
