County seeks more public input on thoroughfare plan; online survey extended to May 10

Commissioner Lauren Lichty told the consortium that Fries and Nichols were engaged on January 2 to lead a master thoroughfare-plan update and that the county convened a 15-member strategic steering committee and interviewed roughly 35–40 stakeholders. She said two town-hall meetings were held (March 31 in Chandler’s Landing and April 1 at Fayette City Hall) and staff continue to solicit public input via an online survey.
"We've got I think we're over 400 now," Lichty said of survey responses and added the deadline had been extended to May 10 to gather more input. The update also includes a second study portion to examine potential tweaks to the county’s apportionment process for charging developers for infrastructure improvements.
Staff asked city partners to promote the survey on municipal websites and social media to boost participation. County staff said they will present results and proposed changes after the consultant completes synthesis of public input.
