The County Clerk told the court the Granicus captioning proposal will enable on-screen captions for court proceedings to improve accessibility for residents with hearing impairments and for broader transparency.
"This captioning quote or proposal is, less than what is in your backup material because it's prorated based on the expiration date... this is now expiring on March 31," the County Clerk said, noting Department of Justice guidance and that the implementation deadline is April 2026. The clerk said the purchase will be funded from the Records Management Fund (Fund 57).
A motion to approve the Granicus order (Q489,654) was made, seconded and approved by the court 5–0.
