The City Council proclaimed May 2026 as Professional Municipal Clerks Week and publicly thanked City Clerk Jackie Rogers and her staff for recent service improvements, including passport services and technology upgrades. Council also proclaimed Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and announced a city celebration scheduled for 05/09/2026 at Aliante Nature Discovery Park in partnership with the AAPI Chamber. Catherine Francisco, founder and president of the AAPI Chamber, said the festival will host over 80 vendors and multiple food booths representing Samoan, Lao, Thai, Filipino and Vietnamese cuisines and invited residents to attend.
