The mayor opened the strategic‑planning session with an invocation and a call for focused deliberation on the city’s priorities, saying the meeting should separate what is urgent from what is important. “If it’s not important, then it’s not urgent,” the mayor told attendees, urging the council to concentrate resources on items that are both urgent and important.
