Waller County commissioners approved several transportation actions, including an amendment extending the Pitts Road engineering design through an intersection that lies in Harris County, an extension of the Owens Road project to the City of Waller, and a change order on a bridge contract to add adjacent paving while the contractor is on site.
Ross (S11) told the court that Harris County had agreed to pay for its portion of design, construction and the traffic signal at the Pitts Road intersection, and said extending the project through the intersection was necessary to preserve capacity. "But it's important to us that the project extends through the intersection in in order to preserve, the capacity," he said. The court approved items 48 through 50.
Background and next steps: staff said the Owens Road extension will be accompanied by an interlocal agreement draft with the City of Prairie View; the bridge change order was presented as a cost-effective opportunity to add nearby paving while the contractor is mobilized.
