Summary

Staff told the 4B board the draft budget includes funding for one new economic development (ED) analyst to assist with marketing, site selection tools and business retention activities, while the ED director role remains unfunded pending evidence of sustained economic-development activity.
"Again this is a historical of revenue projections... 1 new position, which is the ED analyst position. Total, all in cost is going to be about $114,800," Mikaela said. She described the analyst role as intended to assist existing EDC staff with website maintenance, GIS site-selector work and recruitment of new businesses.
Board members asked whether the director position would be restored; staff said the director position is still on the organizational chart but not funded in the draft and that staff will monitor activity and return with a recommendation. The board directed staff to include year-to-date actuals and more detailed personnel cost information with the budget package for a future funding decision.
