Stafford Center to get new roof; spring and summer events expand calendar

Brian Blum, president of FM Squared, told the Economic Development Corporation that the Stafford Center will begin an overlay roof replacement with Strata Roofing and outlined a busy events schedule for spring and summer.
"Tomorrow morning, we're meeting with Strata Roofing to start coordinating," Blum said, noting the timing was chosen to avoid freezing temperatures that could affect roofing adhesives. Blum then summarized upcoming events: the Coastal Conservation Association crawfish boil and catfish fry (April 9), 'Stars of the Sixties' with Peter Noon and the Grassroots (April 22, with 700 attendees expected for the dinner), a business symposium spearheaded by Councilman Bostick (April 30), cultural and music events through October, and expanded July 3–4 celebrations including a symphony chorus and fireworks.
Blum characterized attendance growth and community engagement as strong and encouraged staff and residents to use the Stafford Center for upcoming events; the board thanked him and staff for coordination.
