THDA board approves 2027 Emergency Repair Program description after questions about excluded jurisdictions
Summary
The Board approved the 2027 Emergency Repair Program Description; Board member Maeghan Jones asked how excluded jurisdictions use CDBG funds and about unmet demand in areas that would remain eligible, and staff replied that excluded jurisdictions use other sources while areas left eligible rely largely on THDA.

Bill Lord, Director of Community Housing, presented the 2027 Emergency Repair Program Description to the Board and explained how the proposed eligibility exclusions interact with other funding sources. Board member Maeghan Jones asked for more detailed data on how CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) funds are currently being used in the jurisdictions proposed for exclusion and for figures on unmet repair demand in areas that would remain eligible.
Lord responded that many projects in the excluded jurisdictions had been funded through other sources and that communities outside those jurisdictions often have no other funding for emergency repairs except THDA. The Board approved the program description by motion (moved by Treasurer David Lillard; seconded by Micheal Miller).
