The board discussed a proposed fiscal year 2026–27 joint budget calendar that mirrors last year's schedule: draft availability in mid-June, a joint workshop June 25, a second joint workshop August 11, and a final adoption meeting August 25. Trustees proposed adding an optional extra workshop between the second workshop and the final adoption to allow time for updated certified values and TDA rates and to give the board and the incoming superintendent an opportunity for a board-only review.
Members agreed to coordinate with city staff on dates and to bring final approval of the calendar at the next regular meeting to ensure the incoming superintendent is included in planning. Trustees also asked staff to consider an additional board workshop in May or early June if needed, and to circulate drafts in advance for review.
