Stafford Municipal School District reported strong UIL academics results at the April 13 board meeting. UIL coordinator Josez Romero told trustees that 69 students participated at the district meet and that Stafford captured its district academic championship, winning by more than 400 points. The district also said WCJC awarded roughly $14,000 to Stafford students this season.
Romero highlighted state and regional qualifiers in math, STEM, journalism and speech and debate, and thanked coaches and district coordinators who supported students' travel and preparation. He named standout students, including Min Lam (third place in number sense) and others who qualified for state or regional competitions. Trustees applauded the students and encouraged public recognition of their achievements at upcoming events.
