City invites public to UDO open house March 12 as modernization work continues

Council President Cheatham told the council on March 2 that the city has been working for about a year to modernize the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to match the community vision in Framework OP and invited the public to provide input.
"The UDO regulates how land is used and developed in the city and we've been working already for about a year to align these rules with the vision we all adopted in Framework OP," Cheatham said. He announced an open house on Thursday, March 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Matt Roth Community Center and directed residents to opkansas.org/udoupdate to learn more and provide feedback.
Cheatham encouraged residents to stop by, learn about the work to date and shape the next steps in the process.
