A staff presenter described Cherokee South as one of the city's earliest TIF districts and noted the original developer elected to sell. "This is a resolution authorizing this transfer for the city council to consent by adoption of the resolution," the presenter said. Council President Newland moved adoption and the clerk's roll call recorded unanimous approval.
Council members and staff characterized the TIF as an early learning ground for the city's redevelopment incentives and said the district has been successful. The resolution passed with no recorded opposition.
