Council issues proclamations for youth softball state champions and library’s Victoria Oak

The presiding official read a proclamation honoring the Westminster T and U softball all‑stars for winning state championships in 2024 and 2025 and named coaches Brad Dixon, Clay Chapman, Lee Cook and Joe Perkins. Players and coaches were invited forward for a group photograph and presentation of copies of the proclamation.
The council also issued a proclamation to mark the 40th anniversary of the Victoria Oak at the Westminster Library. Leah Price, identified in the meeting as the library manager, recounted that the willow oak was planted on June 19, 1985, as part of a sister‑city exchange with Westminster, England, and that the community held a birthday celebration to distribute saplings to residents. The council presented a plaque and copies of the proclamation to library staff.
These recognitions were ceremonial and required no council action beyond the proclamations and photographs.
