Court approves contract extension for CDBG drainage work, approves local matches for public-safety grants

Brooke, a county staff member, told the court the county secured a two-year extension (until April 30, 2028) on a Texas General Land Office CDBG contract covering the county’s master drainage plan and a Prairie View generator project. "It’s a 2 year extension, so it’s until 04/30/2028," Brooke said. The commissioners approved the extension along with related contract items 39–41.
Brooke also reported the county was selected for a State Homeland Security Program award but must provide local funds because equipment prices rose since the application. The original scope was scaled back from a mix of mobile and portable radios to 20 portable and five mobile radios to fit available funding. The court approved the request for local funds for the scaled project and approved submission of an MVCPA plate-reader continuation application that carries a $13,500 local match.
