Commissioners accept mixed-media artwork donation for courthouse from Prairie View A&M professor

Waller County accepted a donated mixed-media artwork from Dr. Clarence Talley, a professor and artist affiliated with Prairie View A&M, who described the piece and asked the court to display it in the courthouse. Talley said the work 'was inspired by the courthouse map and county features and that he felt it belonged in the public space; the court expressed appreciation and moved to accept the gift for public display.

"This is entirely Waller County, a fascinating county," Talley said when introducing the piece, describing its mixed-media construction and the local symbols included in the work. Commissioners noted that the artwork complements the historical displays on the courthouse second floor and thanked Talley for the donation; the acceptance vote carried without opposition.
