Mayor Robert Geissman told council that the village did not receive two larger grant requests in this funding round — a $135,000 pavilion grant and a $1,000,000 storm sewer improvement grant — and that most county award dollars went to county projects. He said the village was encouraged to reapply in the next round.
The mayor reported that the village was awarded a $99,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to install sidewalks on Ohio Street, Legion Street and Gaylord Street; the work is likely to occur next year. He also said that the Church Street resurfacing project will begin on June 22, 2026, that partial grant funding was received for that project, and that residents on that street received notification letters.
