TABC honors staff across divisions with annual service and employee awards

Director Amanda Fletcher told commissioners the awards highlight ‘‘the professionalism, dedication, and integrity that all the employees here at TABC bring to the work every day.’’ Fletcher said the agency changed this year’s format to recognize a group of employees who represent core values rather than a single top honoree.
Staff presented 25‑year service recognition for Lorena Barnett; Deputy Director Sarah Fricke accepted the award on Barnett’s behalf and staff described Barnett’s long licensing service in Amarillo. The commission also announced individual awards: Nepfali Alonzaran (Newcomer of the Year), Katie Varner (Newcomer, HR), Donald “Donnie” Beam (Employee of the Year, ITD), Juan Rodriguez (Courtesy), Agent Doug Richardson (Integrity) and Agent Scott Moore (Accountability). Several award recipients and supervisors offered brief remarks of thanks.
The chair invited families and staff to a reception following the meeting. No formal board action was required for the awards themselves; the presentations concluded before the business reports.
The commission moved from the ceremony into the regular agenda after the reception notice.
