Council hears updates on Essex Road completion, Depot project and park inspections

Administrator Peter Them told council that the Essex Road project is complete and commended Water Department Supervisor Brad Ross for completing the work. The Depot project recently kicked off and skate park equipment is listed for auction. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources notified the village that it will conduct a random site visit to Community Park connected to planning for the 2027 sidewalk project.
Council members raised operational concerns about ADA compliance and traffic flow for Main Street safety improvements, including pavement timing to reduce traffic impacts and clarifications on plow access for bump-outs on U.S. Route 42. Administrator Them said sidewalk rework was required for ADA compliance and that paving would be scheduled during evening hours to minimize disruption.
