Council hears report on E. Main water-main repair, leaf pickup and Light Up Lexington attendance; connector road discussion revived

Administrator Peter Them told council a water-main break on E. Main Street next to Clearwater Systems was repaired within a few hours with assistance from multiple departments; traffic cones remain marking a turn lane under repair. Them said the Street Department "made a full sweep today throughout the Village" to pick up leaves but noted further pickup will depend on snowfall. The mayor and council thanked public-works crews for their work and for support for the village's Light Up Lexington event, which the meeting estimated drew approximately 500 attendees.
Councilmember Keith Bacin asked why discussion of a connector road had returned; Mayor Jarvis said the plan has been part of village planning for roughly 50 years and that recent reviews of engineers' drawings and pursuit of grants prompted renewed consideration. Attorney Studenmund described the connector road as part of a comprehensive, long-running plan.
