The Calhoun County board convened for a special-called meeting, completed roll call and asked Mr. Lathers to lead an opening prayer. During the prayer Mr. Lathers said, "We thank you for sending your son, Jesus," before the meeting moved on to business.
The chair asked for a motion to approve the meeting agenda; a motion and a second were recorded and the chair said "Motion carries." After a brief presentation of personnel items by Mr. Willis and a subsequent vote approving those items, the chair entertained and accepted a motion to adjourn; the chair again called the ayes and adjourned the meeting. The transcript records voice votes and the chair's statements that motions carried but does not provide roll-call vote totals for motions.
