Steubenville City Council conducted several routine procedural items and community announcements Sept. 30.
Early in the meeting Ms. Hoover moved to excuse Mr. McManamon; Mr. Albaugh seconded and the motion carried on a roll-call vote reported as "All ayes." Mr. Walker later moved to approve the minutes of the Sept. 23 meeting (second Mr. Albaugh); that motion also carried. At the meeting's close Mr. Hernon moved to adjourn (second Mr. Walker) and the motion carried.
Council members sun shined a resolution proclaiming Oct. 5-11, 2025 as Fire Prevention Week and Ms. Hoover sun shined resolutions proclaiming October 2025 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and October 17 as National Mammography Day; she also sun shined a resolution designating October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Mr. Mayo introduced Cathy Lucas, who described the 'Together We Care' event at Harding Stadium; she said 10 teams and five games will play and all proceeds go to the Cancer Dietary Initiative food bank.
No formal contested votes or controversial actions were recorded; the procedural motions passed unanimously as recorded in the minutes.
