City manager reports meetings with Governor, pool repairs and building tour for council

City Manager Jim Mavromatis told council that he, Mayor Barilla and Councilman McManamon traveled to Columbus for meetings with Senator Chavez and Governor Mike DeWine to discuss three city projects and potential funding. Mavromatis described both meetings as productive and said state staff were receptive to the city's project descriptions.
On local projects he reported work on the municipal swimming pool: deck drains have been replaced, remaining tasks include concreting, caulking and painting the pool floor and pouring steps; he said inspectors still must sign off before a full reopening and suggested opening the pool for one or two weekend days at no charge for residents if inspections permit. He also proposed a Council tour of the renovated city building next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.; Council agreed to arrive early for the tour.
