Board awards $5.26 million GMP for LACE Enrollment Center; bond update details multiple projects

The board approved a guaranteed maximum price for phase 1 of the Lacey Enrollment Center and received a broader bond program update.
Brandon Ruse of Core Construction (speaker S23) presented the GMP 1 amount for LACE phase 1 at $5,256,435 (the larger GMP 1+2 package was presented as $7,200,000). Trustee Yannica Bridal Cook (speaker S16) moved to award the GMP to Core Construction and the board seconded and approved the motion unanimously.
Takeda’s Melanie Reams (speaker S22) gave a quarterly bond update describing project schedules and milestones: construction documents for Waterford Oaks and Plummer Elementary are in permit review, bidding was slated for December 2025 with construction beginning May 2026, and High Point Elementary is in phase 3 (fine arts wing) with phase 4 scheduled for summer 2026 work that includes the administration area, cafeteria and gym. Reams said the program will coordinate security camera upgrades and furniture procurement timelines so renovated spaces can open for the school year.
