Cedar Hill ISD trustees voted to adopt a property tax rate of $1.1279 for the 2025-26 year during the regular board meeting.
Administration explained that the dollar-rate motion language follows state-required wording tied to the no-new-revenue calculation and that, despite the motion math, the districtexpects the rate to remain effectively unchanged once new property values and the additional homestead exemption are applied. "So our tax rate will stay the same," administration said, explaining the breakdown as roughly 78cents for maintenance and operations and 34cents for interest and sinking, which includes a 17cent voter-approved component from 2023.
Trustee Ramona Ross Bacon moved the tax-rate motion and Trustee Carmel Morgan seconded. The board approved the rate in a unanimous voice vote.
Administration said final calculations and the formal tax-rate adoption paperwork will be presented as part of the required budget and tax documentation in coming meetings.
