The Cedar Hill ISD board and Superintendent Maria Gamel swore in Carlos Belo as the district’s police chief in a brief ceremonial portion of Monday’s board meeting. Belo took the oath, pledged to “preserve, protect and defend” the constitutions and laws of the United States and Texas, and was pinned by his spouse.
Chief Belo thanked his family and said he looked forward to serving the district. Superintendent Maria Gamel administered the oath and the board and audience offered congratulations. The swearing-in followed recognition of student and staff achievements earlier in the meeting.
