Chamblee to begin streamlined economic-development assessment with Georgia Tech in January 2026

Ashley said the assessment is a more compact approach than a full strategic plan and is meant to be practical for a city of Chamblee's size. She said staff plans to budget for the work in the next cycle and will follow up with confirmed dates and details on DDA participation.
Board members asked whether the DDA would be involved beyond a single visioning session; Ashley said she expected ongoing involvement but is still finalizing the scope with Georgia Tech. The expected duration for the assessment was about a year.
The DDA did not take action on the assessment item but will coordinate with city staff on participation and scheduling.
