Calumet County MSI Committee ranks Stockbridge Lake Street top priority for discretionary funding

On Oct. 27, 2025, the Calumet County Municipal Street Improvement (MSI) Committee voted to prioritize three discretionary projects for the MSID funding queue.
Committee member Jason Meyer moved to set the prioritization order with the Village of Stockbridge's Lake Street (CTH E within the village) as the top MSID project, the Village of Sherwood's Military Road (CTH M) second, and the City of Chilton's Water Street (from Breed St. to Grand St.) third; the motion was seconded by Committee member Andrew Maertz and carried unanimously. Committee members said they evaluated each project using four criteria: safety, reconstruction need, traffic volume and comprehensive planning.
The committee also noted that projects submitted for MSID consideration are automatically submitted for MSI Supplemental (MSIS) funding; no separate MSIS-specific prioritization was presented. The prioritization establishes the local ranking for discretionary funding consideration in the 2026–2027 cycle and will guide staff outreach to municipalities regarding design and scheduling.
