The Calumet County Municipal Street Improvement (MSI) Committee voted Oct. 27, 2025, to award entitlement funding to two municipalities for the 2026–2027 cycle.
Committee member Jason Meyer moved to award entitlement funds to the Village of Sherwood for Palisades Trail and Escarpment Terrace reconstruction and to the Village of Stockbridge for Lake Street (CTH E) reconstruction; the motion was seconded by Committee member Greg Zickuhr and carried unanimously. Each municipality will receive $47,251.13. Projects awarded funding for the 2026–2027 cycle will have a sunset date of June 30, 2031.
The committee recorded that the Villages of Hilbert and Potter did not submit applications or send representatives for this cycle and were therefore passed over for funding this round. County staff noted that Hilbert and Potter remain next in line for entitlement funding in the subsequent cycle under historical procedures.
Next steps identified at the meeting include municipal project development and adherence to the June 30, 2031 deadline for awarded projects to be completed or otherwise meet program requirements.
