The Lewistown City Commission approved Resolution No. 4200 on Aug. 18 to adopt a preliminary budget and set a date for the public hearing and final adoption for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026.
City Manager Nikki Phelps said the resolution establishes a schedule for the public hearing and final budget adoption. Commissioner Buehler asked whether cash carryforward and reserves would be presented at the final budget meeting; Phelps replied yes and said those details will be part of the final presentation.
Commissioner Hewitt moved and Commissioner Hrubes seconded approval of Resolution No. 4200; the motion passed unanimously by roll call. The action sets the timeline for the FY2026 budget process and schedules further review and the public hearing required before final adoption.
