Commission Approves 2024–25 Budget Amendment to Reconcile Prior-Year Items

The Lewistown City Commission approved Resolution No. 4199 on Aug. 18 to amend the City’s 2024–25 budget to reflect unanticipated revenues, expenses and grants from the prior fiscal year.
City Manager Nikki Phelps reviewed the adjustments, which include Library salaries, donations to Recreation (Friends of the Pools), additions to trails funding, personnel changes affecting the school resource officer account, fire prevention donations and a correction to the Riverdale sewer principal due to rounding. Phelps also said water fund project entries were adjusted to reflect work completed in the prior year.
Commissioner Buehler asked whether this would be the final amendment; Phelps replied auditors will be closing the year and additional entries may be required. Commissioner Hrubes moved to approve Resolution No. 4199, Commissioner Hewitt seconded and the motion passed unanimously by roll call. The amendment updates accounts to align records with work completed and donations received in FY2024–25.
