Council asks for condition report on parks and recreation facilities after Beatty Park recognition

Councilmembers pressed for clearer information on the condition of parks and recreation facilities and associated repair estimates. Councilmember Royal Mayo said he wants a written report on facility conditions, costs and planned repairs, noting high gym temperatures at the Martin Luther King Center and hanging fencing at courts. "I was there today, it's about 95 degrees in the gym," Mayo said, asking whether the air conditioning is functional and whether estimates exist for repairs.
Separately, Flora from the Friends of Beatty Park informed council that the group received a Historic Bridge Award from the State of Ohio Engineers and Bridge Conference for work on Bridge #2 and presented awards to the project team. The council did not take formal action but Mr. Albaugh said he will raise stream restoration status at the next Parks & Recreation meeting.
