Commissioners unanimously approved $15,316.71 in repairs for the sewer department’s vac truck at the Aug. 4 meeting after City Manager Phelps described the machine as the department’s largest and most frequently used maintenance asset. The quote came from KOIS, the statewide proprietary vendor, and exceeded the threshold requiring Commission approval.
Commissioner Robertson called the vac truck "the handiest piece of equipment in public works," and commissioners noted it is used for sewer and water digs and to assist smaller surrounding communities when requested. The motion to approve the repair was made by Commissioner Robertson, seconded by Commissioner Hrubes, and passed on a roll call with all voting in favor.
