Dell Rapids Carnegie Library reports record circulation, wins $10,000 Carnegie grant and wins council approval for scotch tasting program

Britney Moller, director of the Dell Rapids Carnegie Public Library, presented the library’s 2025 state report and highlighted year-over-year gains: a rise in library visits (+575), total circulation of 28,772 items, 246 new patrons and a total patron base of 4,068 cardholders. Moller said the library participates in the Libby digital consortium (annual fee $1,500) and estimated the consortium’s availability of e-books and audiobooks saved the library about $436,590 in potential purchases.
Moller also announced the library received a $10,000 grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She requested council approval for an adult education event — a scotch-tasting presentation with limited samples and ID checks planned for June 3 — and council approved the consumption permit. Council moved to approve the annual report and thanked library staff and volunteers for programming growth.
