Board recognizes student achievements, chaplaincy cohort and community partners

Trustees paused to recognize multiple student and community achievements. Cedar Hill High students who completed a drone course and earned FAA Part 107 certification were acknowledged along with program partners Aviator Academy of Texas; John Nays (speaker 12) and Colin Owen (speaker 13) described the curriculum and partnership. The board celebrated winners of the district holiday card art contest and invited picture-taking with trustees.
The district recognized graduates and instructors of the first CHISD Chaplaincy cohort; Pastor Steve Boyer (speaker 15) described training hours and the rollout of chaplain services across campuses. The Rotary Club of Cedar Hill was thanked for donating more than 300 coats through its Coats for Kids initiative. Student ambassadors from the Boys and Divas youth leadership organization outlined events and community service (94 active members), and trustees praised the program's family engagement and mentoring work.
